🐛Caterpillar or Butterfly 🦋
Spring is a wonderful time of year, a season that opens our eyes to the new and enhances growth. What resonates with me during this time of year is space for our own personal transformations. I am talking about: new beginnings, the colour green, inner growth, a clean slate and an encouraging energy to spread our wings and fly.
Life is full of twists and turns, ups and downs; however, having spent last week in the UK, I was fully immersed in the feeling of Spring, with its budding flowers, beautiful trees boasting vivid green leaves, and waking to the sounds of tweeting birds singing their morning song.
Here in Lanzarote, we tend not to feel such a shift from one season to another; it transforms slowly from warm winter to warmer spring to slightly warmer summer through a cooler autumn! So not much to write home about! I miss the change of seasons, and it's a luxury to have a week's quick fix, as a reminder of that changing feeling.
During my whirlwind week in England, I had the chance to meet up with many family members and catch up with a dear school friend. I even sparked up an interesting conversation with a lady whilst taking in the sea view, sitting on the pebbles at Brighton beach.
I make time to reflect and process what is happening in my life. It's an important space where I can question ideas, plan ahead and check in with myself. My newly acquired single life brings many challenges, but one big positive, it has given me time alone to take a moment and "Just Be". A space and time just for me, without distractions or feeling responsible for anyone else at that moment.
Transitioning from one chapter of life to another takes time. It made me think about how caterpillars manage their transformation.
They start by living their caterpillar life, eating well and generally making a nuisance of themselves to gardeners! Then construct a snug cocoon, giving time to be still, contemplate, grow, and transform into a new entity. Then it's a break free moment, transforming from the stillness into a beautiful butterfly, which is free to fly wherever and however it wants.
Using this image in my head, I feel like I am finally breaking out of my wintering cocoon, to fly free..... so, get ready world, here I come! 🤪
I would like to ask you if interested in indulging me. Are you experiencing changes this springtime? Do you feel it's time to grow and push yourself out of your own boundaries? What stage are you in right now, caterpillar 🐛, cocoon 🪹 or butterfly 🦋?
Embrace the chance to think this through, and maybe it will explain your current status, giving you a clear mind and aiding focus. It can help explain where and why you are positioned in your current process.
I really enjoy sharing my thoughts with you. I thank you for your time in reading my blogs, and I hope to catch up again soon, Gen-X- Ers 🤗.

Still in my cocoon, preparing to be reborn next spring.
