🧤🥶🎄Wintering🎄🥶🧤
Welcome Gen-X-Ers to my latest blog,
Time sure flies when you're having fun, and suddenly I have found myself in December 2025! It feels like I have blinked and missed the whole year, just where did that go??!!
It has been a busy year for me, having spent 2 months in the Netherlands alongside a European road trip, purchased, moved and restored a house (just for me 😁 and Oli dog🐶 of course)!, and being ready to open my heart to find Love 💜 again.
I am writing today from a cosy internet cafe in Amsterdam, sipping fresh mint tea and enjoying the hubbub of people chatting away and the sparkle of flickering tealights. There is something about the warmth of an open fire that makes it feel very okay to be inside and to sit still for a while. The ultimate image of Wintering for me is: still, calm, fluffy blankets, candles, a warm orange glow and the fabrics of red and green.
I have decided to use my Wintering time wisely, take stock and plan for 2026 as I want to keep some time for myself! Already, there are many commitments planned for next year. These range from social events, holidays, yoga retreats, to two of my children's weddings, all contributing to filling up the space in my diary.
December feels like a perfect month to start planning, when evenings draw in early, and we enjoy plenty of snuggly couch and blanket moments, time can easily be lost binge-watching TV. Now is the perfect opportunity to reflect on 2025, consider what you would like to achieve in 2026 and put pen to paper to help make that happen.
Remember, everything is possible, so think big, our dreams can only be realised if we have:
- Think about and then ask for what we want
- Put together a plan of action
- Take positive steps towards our goal
- Then Persist!
At times, our goals can be overwhelming and seem too difficult to achieve 🤪.
Aim high and consider the following;
- Who can help you?
- Who is in your network of family, friends and colleagues that can assist you?
- What tools are available to provide you with new skills and knowledge?
- What else can you do to take the steps forward?
In the end, it's all about our own perception; what seems very challenging for you would be easy for someone else. This came to mind today when I was walking along the street wrapped up like a snowman, wearing an oversized scarf, a woolly hat, gloves and a thick winter coat and was passed by a man walking briskly past me donning shorts!! It seriously made me giggle 😆... how chilly this weather is for me, yet perfectly fine and acceptable for someone else.
As 2025 draws to a close, I want to thank you for supporting my blogs this year, and I look forward to sharing my new and exciting plans for 2026 very soon!
Catch up soon X💜X
