👋Welcome to my first ever Blog Post👋

Ok so I am not a professional writer in fact I am not a professional anything. Having a lack of higher education does not mean I don't know useful information, it does mean I am self taught, inventive and resourceful.

I am looking to build a community of other "gen X ers", a space where we can share idea, words of wisdom, offer information created from personal experiences and be heard by honest like minded people. You are allowed to join in the fun, even if you are not a GenX, the reason for this is that maybe you younglings may learn a thing or two, those who are more mature may teach us something. After-all everyday is a school day. 

I will also be setting challenges and would love for you to join in and share your experiences. Each and everyone of us on this planet is living a different story. 

This was highlighted to me a few months ago when I was discussing a childhood memory, a holiday in Wales with my parents and brother. We used to holiday a few times a year in the region staying in our families cottage. 

My memory was; We had never climbed Snowdonia.

My brother memory was different; We climbed Snowdonia alot.

My mother replied; We climbed up a couple of times.

My father's version; We climbed up and too the train down.... is that even possible ?

So you see 4 individuals living the same experience with very different stories.

So you may now be asking why is Michelle, Shelly or by whatever name you call me, starting the Gen X Lounge community? I know my children are, having  frantically messaging me to say my insta account had been hacked as they spotted the new GenXLounge account with my photo. I went on to explain, it's OK its just me starting something new and not a random person stealing their mothers identity. 

They then questioned, so what is this all about? To me it's simple I have a burning desire (and not it’s not just a hot flush) to share and be helpful. I have spent the last 50 years living in a family unit, I currently live alone which has given me an amazing space to grow myself and the time to express that. Thus the birth of GenXLounge.......

Don’t forget, you are going to play a very important part to the GenXLounge community, so keep in touch, and connected. I still have many unanswered questions so I am hoping you u will be able to assist me with that!.
